Question:

How often should I repent? Every day or when you feel the need?

Answer:

When you sin, you will be spoken to by the Holy Spirit, to convict you of your sin. Some-times you will know immediately, and sometimes it will take a while for to realise that you have sinned. But the moment you know, immediately turn to God, don’t run from Him, and ask for forgiveness. Stay in a constant state of communication with God, not with your eyes closed of course, but an awareness that God is with you, even though you fall into sin.

John 16     “Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to youAnd when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:

13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.”

1 John 1:9   If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

1 Thessalonians 5:17   pray without ceasing

So, when you realise that you have sinned, come to God immediately, but at least at the end of every day, when you have time to think about the day. Don’t go to bed without asking God’s forgiveness, so you can have a fresh start in the morning.

I trust that this makes sense. God bless!
