Question:

Is Bankruptcy a sin?

Answer:

Trouble can come to us all, and can cause us to crash and burn, taking all our earthly posses-sions. If you don’t believe me, look at the book of Job. Job was a righteous man, very close to God, but the devil killed all his ten children, and took all of his wealth, on one day. So, to lose everything you own is no sin, but the problem comes when you declare bankruptcy before you lose everything, and then walk away from it, leaving a lot of other people in a worse position than you are. That is a sin. I have a friend who lost everything that he had built up over many years, but kept on paying back every cent that he owed, until everything was repaid. In that way he lost no friends, but only possessions and money. God smiles on someone like that.

I trust that this makes sense to you. God bless!

Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
