Question:
Answer:
I am sure that the devil has tried everything to make us misunderstand the Bible, even with false documents and wrong translations. We can see the results of misinterpretation of the Bible in the tens of thousands of different churches and denominations, each claiming to have the truth. The devil is doing his utmost to confuse Biblical issues and drag people away from God. He himself has probably initiated hundreds of religions, as he doesn’t really care what people believe, as long as they do not believe God’s truth. He uses lies and deceptions to make people fall off of God’s path, not caring which way they fall. He was the one who first deceived Adam and Eve and brought sin into the world. He even tried his best to tempt Jesus to sin, but was unsuccessful.
John 8:44 “You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.”
Matthew 4:1 Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.
As Christians, we believe that God is almighty, all-knowing and eternal, while the devil is a created being. The devil has greater powers than we have, and is invisible, and is also able to plant thoughts in our minds to tempt us, but God is greater, and with His help we are able to defeat the devil. In the same way, I believe that God has His protection over His Word, the Bible, so we can be confident that what is said in it, is God’s truth.
The Bible was finally put together with much prayer, by the early church fathers, at a time when there was only one church. To the existing 39 books of the Old Testament (the Scriptures Jesus used), was added another 27 books (the New Testament). As it was to be God’s Word to us, I’m sure that God inspired those church leaders to put in, and leave out, exactly what He wanted them to, to give us the Bible we know today.
