Question:

My life is good, but I feel like I’m more focussed on this life. I’ve been praying for him to take it away if it’s not for me but he hasn’t answered. Maybe this is a test?

Answer:

Romans 12:2   And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

I have prayed for you, and will keep on doing it. The only thing that will get you away from being focused on the world and its temptations, is spending more time with God. So why don’t you make an everyday appointment with God, early in the morning before you start the rest of your day. And then, start by praying, not just the normal prayer, but opening your heart to God, telling Him all about your sins, temptations, hopes, dreams, fears, everything. The aim of prayer is not to have answers, but to get to know God, and Him getting to know you. And then, when you’ve finished praying, let God speak to you about Himself, by reading a good bit of His Word, the Bible. Before you start reading, ask God to show you Himself in the Bible, so that you can get to know Jesus, and through Jesus, get to know the Father. In this way you are talking to each other, which is the way it is with a close personal relationship. And don’t be hit-and-miss in your relationship, make it an everyday appointment, without fail, or you will slide away from God again, and get wrapped up in this world’s things.

1 John 4:8   He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

Philippians 2     12 … work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; 13 for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.

John 17:3   And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.”

John 17:23 (NLT)    I am in them and you are in me. May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that you sent me and that you love them as much as you love me.”

Jeremiah 31:3    The Lord has appeared of old to me, saying: “Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you.”

Hebrews 13:5   …. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Ephesians 2     For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of your-selves; it is the gift of Godnot of works, lest anyone should boast.

1 Thessalonians 5:17   pray without ceasing …

2 Corinthians  3:18    But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

A special plea is that you give it time. Nothing worth having happens immediately. Some-times in the beginning, you wonder if this is really going to work. Is God that interested in me that He would want to spend time with me? Is He even listening? Just keep on doing it, building the good habit, opening up to God, and studying His Word, and one day you’ll find Him there, and then you will never want to let go!

God bless as you get closer and closer to Him every morning. God bless!
