Above are a number of different translations of the passage you spoke about. The last one is the one that you mentioned, but you can see that it was not a simple translation, and that it could be translated in a number of different ways. Which one is the most correct? The one that does not violate anything that the Bible talks about in other places. You choose.
1 Timothy 6:10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
Mark 10 23 Then Jesus looked around and said to His disciples, “How hard it is for those who have riches to enter the kingdom of God!” 24 And the disciples were astonished at His words. But Jesus answered again and said to them, “Children, how hard it is for those who trust in riches to enter the kingdom of God! 25 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”
26 And they were greatly astonished, saying among themselves, “Who then can be saved?”
27 But Jesus looked at them and said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.”
The Bible does not say that money is a problem, but it is a problem when it becomes the most important thing in your life. The problem is the love of money, not money itself.
