Question:

I feel like my faith is bad cause i accept Jesus as my savior i know what he died for and i study the bible and pray every day however i still lie time to time.

Answer:

You are very concerned to be sinning still, while you confess to be a Christian. We should be worried about any sin that we commit, but we have been told that God is merciful, and will forgive us and cleanse us, if we ask Him. It would be nice to stop sinning totally, but the process of sanctification (making holy), which starts when we accept Christ as our Saviour, is a lifelong one, so unfortunately we still sin. But it is our close personal relation-ship with Jesus that brings us closer and closer to Him, and in the end it is Christ’s right-eousness that counts, not our own. That, of course, does not give us a free ticket to sin, because God knows our hearts, and sees if we are sincere in our acceptance of Him. So, look at Jesus and His perfect character, His sacrifice on the cross for you, and accept His free gift of salvation. And as you look at Him, you will be changed, and sin less and less.

1 John 1:9   If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

2 Corinthians 3:18   But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

I trust that this all makes sense to you. God bless!
