Question:

I am currently living with a friend he’s a believer, but he indulges in earthly things, ECT astrology. We talk about the gospel all the time but am really concerned if I should leave or just block out when he’s doing and talking to certain people.

Answer:

You have a problem that only you can sort out. If this friend is influencing you, and causing you a problem in your relationship with God, then you need to move. But if you are the good influence in his life, and he’s not hurting you spiritually, you may be the only person who can make him see that God loves him and wants him to live a life free of the things that he is involved with. It’s your choice.

Any person that tries to predict the future, the Bible calls an abomination. God alone knows the future, the devil tries to do the same with limited success, and so tries to make people run their lives according to the astrologers’ predictions. Humans are desperate to determine what the future holds, instead of leaving it up to God, and trusting that He has everything under His control.

Deuteronomy 18      10 There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, 11 or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead12 For all who do these things are an abomination to the LORD, and because of these abominations the LORD your God drives them out from before you. 13 You shall be blameless before the LORD your God. 14 For these nations which you will dispossess listened to soothsayers and diviners; but as for you, the LORD your God has not appointed such for you.

2 Chronicles 33:6   Also he caused his sons to pass through the fire in the Valley of the Son of Hinnom; he practiced soothsaying, used witchcraft and sorcery, and consulted mediums and spiritists. He did much evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke Him to anger.

Isaiah 47     13 “You are wearied in the multitude of your counsels; let now the astrologers, the stargazers, and the monthly prognosticators stand up and save you from what shall come upon you. 14 Behold, they shall be as stubble, the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame; it shall not be a coal to be warmed by, nor a fire to sit before!”

Daniel 2     10 The Chaldeans answered the king, and said, “There is not a man on earth who can tell the king’s matter; therefore no king, lord, or ruler has ever asked such things of any magician, astrologer, or Chaldean11 It is a difficult thing that the king requests, and there is no other who can tell it to the king except the gods, whose dwelling is not with flesh.

27 Daniel answered in the presence of the king, and said, “The secret which the king has demanded, the wise men, the astrologers, the magicians, and the soothsayers cannot declare to the king.  28 But there is a God in heaven who reveals secrets, and He has made known to King Nebuchadnezzar what will be in the latter days.”

So, you have a choice to make, because the devil will try his best to influence you and pull you away from God. I think that you should be asking God this question, and listening very closely to His answer. God bless as you make the choice!
