Question:

Which Bible version do you use?

Answer:

My Bible of choice for the last 20 years has been the New King James Version, however before that I used the NIV, probably also for about 20 years. But I have in my bookcase the King James, NLT, Good News and both Afrikaans versions. I have also read the Bible in German and Dutch.

I prefer the NKJV as it comes from the Textus Receptus manuscripts, and the NIV has many “missing texts”, portions left out because they translated from different old manuscripts. But any translation can lead a person to Jesus, if we are led by the Holy Spirit. When I’m doing serious Bible study, and I want to look at words or passages in different versions, I use BibleGateway (www.biblegateway.com) where you can view one verse in all the different English translations on one page.

God bless as you study His Word!
