Question:

Will Jesus take newborn babies and kids that aren’t believers?

Answer:

When we get to know God, and we know that He truly is love, as it states in 1 John 4:8, then we know that He is trying His utmost to get as many of us into His kingdom as possible. That includes children of course. The Bible does not say much about children, except that Jesus said that we should become like children if we would like to get to heaven. That means that children really are in the best position to be saved into God’s kingdom, because they trust easily and depend totally on those they trust. And that is what God wants us to be like.

Luke 18     15 Then they also brought infants to Him that He might touch them; but when the disciples saw it, they rebuked them. 16 But Jesus called them to Him and said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God17 Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it.”

My personal feeling on this is that children who have not yet reached the age where they are fully capable of making their own decisions, and this includes babies, will be in heaven, no matter what they have done. They are sinners as we are, and we don’t get salvation because of our good works, so what is different for kids? A God of love, who is crazy about children, would love to get them in heaven where He Himself can help them grow into a wonderfully close personal relationship with Him. But I am not God, so I cannot judge who will be in heaven or not. In fact, God tells me not to judge! Only God can do that, because God knows our hearts. Look at the words of Jesus below.

Luke 6:37   Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.”

God does not want any to be lost, adults as well as children, and He has proven that He is willing to give His own life to save ours. So, I’m happy in the thought that God will have a multitude of kids in heaven. Whether they all will be there, I cannot say. God bless!
